A real big deal for Amaral Custom Fabrications is the arrival of Alexander Calder’s 1964 sculpture “Spunk of the Monk” for a new coat of paint. We will be following a strict set of guidelines established by the Calder Foundation some years ago for the re-paint using paint that matches as closely as possible to original specs. Unfortunately, paint has changed over the years due to environmental and health standards being so much stricter than they were in 1964, so our job is to get it as close as possible with today’s paints. The client will be happy with the results, that I am sure about!
