We are pleased that installation has gone so well for this new sculpture by Hank Willis Thomas!
It did not start so well….
We had a strap let loose on us on the way down to Philly, which forced us to retreat back to our shop in Rumford Rhode Island for some very quick repairs. 24 hours, to be exact. Then back on the road (we double and triple checked the strap this time!) and back to Philly.
Installation onto Thomas Paine Plaza at City Hall went just about as smooth as any installation we’ve done over the years. The stone masons completed the job of replacing tiles after we situated the sculpture on its specially designed base, all within 6 hours.
Quite an effort by the ACF team to recover from disaster and make it all work!
